Patricia Antone interview

AUTHOR INTERVIEW

A little introduction:

Hi, I'm Patricia Antone, the Author who Dreams in Print. I write Romantic Suspense, Paranormal Romance, and Contemporary Romance. I am a wife and mom of two, who rediscovered writing during the early years of empty nest.

When did your love of books begin?

My love of books began when I was introduced to a library in my elementary school years. When I was old enough to take the bus to the public library, it was like winning the lottery.

When did you start to have the wish to become an author?

Becoming an author was an accident. With my kids heading off to college, I had time to explore old hobbies. Creative writing was something I've always enjoyed but set aside due to not enough time in the day. My husband as a gift, enrolled me in an adult learning course on writing and self-publishing. The instructor, a published author herself, introduced me to her writers' group. I joined and never left.

How have you found the process for becoming an author?

I love creating a new story. I find the process therapeutic as it is totally different from by day job of selling plumbing supplies. To create a world and the people in it, then to have other people tell me they enjoyed it, is so rewarding. I had an active imagination growing up and my family is impressed I have learned to transfer it from my mind to become a book.

What would you say to those wanting to become an author?

Go. For. It.
Find a writers group via your local library or take adult learning programs. This was how I dipped my toe into the water, so to speak. I am an introvert, and this was way out of my comfort zone. Now, I love a crowded book signing, love talking to people, and I really love sitting with a notebook making notes for the next project. When you meet so many people, they do inspire ideas for your characters.

Tell us about your book/books:

I have three series going.
The Blue-Collar Series consists of four standalone books. My men are a Marine, a Tow Truck Operator, a Contractor, and a Cowboy.
The Falling SEALs, The Blind Missions Series, are about a group that got out of the Navy together and as they don't see love coming, its why they are on Blind Missions. I heard the Wooing notes got lost.
My third series is the Destiny's Path Series. A Scottish Family navigates the gifts passed down to them. A curse has our heroine travelling to the past to save the future of her family. The werewolves are just a bonus.
In total I have seventeen books to my credit, with more to come.

What do you love about the writing/reading community?

I love the generosity, comradery, and most of all how welcoming they are. When I first joined it was like I found my village. I have met so many writers of assorted genres, who are just amazing.

If you could say anything to your readers what would it be?

Keep reading! It's not hoarding if its books.
In all seriousness, I want to thank anyone who reads my books. I am blessed to have many followers, great reviews, and when I am at a signing, it is such a rush to hear how loved the book(s) was. I will smile for weeks after hearing this.

Where can people connect with you?

I am all over social media. Find me on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. My website patriciaantone.wixsite.com/authorsite has my appearance schedule, book lists, and more.
