Day 26 of our Feed My Reads recommended in 2022 and a book I have only just finished but really did love, The Victim by Gillian Jackson.  This book is one I really enjoyed and found to be a great read but have seen criticised for the author not knowing police procedures fully but the book doesn't claim to be a police procedural and so I feel this is an unfair take from people and so recommend this book and going into it with the open mind it deserves. Feed My Reads recommended in 2022 day 25 and one that is different from my normal reads but I genuinely loved it and so I am pleased to recommend Tales from the Greenhills by Terry Melia. Book - The Victim Author -  Gillian Jackson Rating - Review: When a young wife calls 999 to report her husband dead and that she stabbed him it seems like a pretty clear case but was it self defence or planned?  As more details emerge about the wife it is clear she was an abused woman but is everything ever really clear cut?  Evidence is at a premium and there are more than 2 sides to the stories being heard but can the police really get to the bottom of this case or will they just have to go with things being unable to be proven and so take it as being as it looks initially? This is the second book I've read by this author and she is a true talent.  This book felt like I knew what was coming at times but then it had another little twist to things whilst never feeling like the author was reaching for something that didn't make sense or fit. This is a great read and one I highly recommend.

AUTHOR INTERVIEW When did your love of books begin? My love of books began at a very early age. My mom would take me to storytimes at our local library and I was hooked.  I was the kid that always would check out from the maximum number of books.  When did you start to have the wish to become an author? I started writing and illustrating stories when I was six years old.  I distinctly remember looking in the mirror in sixth grade promising myself that someday I would become a published author.  How have you found the process for becoming an author? I live in Germany and have a very changeable life behind me, in which I did a masters in philosophy, worked as a finance manager, but also worked as a taxi driver. Literature has always been my great passion. I only started writing books myself a few years ago. When did your love of books begin? My love of books began already at primary school. I remember reading Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn, first in German, later in English. Later I was enthusiastic about classics such as Goethe or Shakespeare. Even at school I began to write some simple short stories myself. But since I had so many interests – which is perhaps my weakness, but also my strength – I didn`t pursue this further at that time. As this is your Feed My Reads community and your blog I wanted to give you an update on us having hit another major milestone, today your blog hit 30,000 views total since launching at the beginning of October. What have we delivered to the blog to get to this number? So far we have delivered 372 author interviews, 27 blogger interviews, 138 book reviews, 5 short stories, 10 authors interviewing authors, many authors and their book listings, dinner parties, holidays and so much more. This blog is something that we are always working hard to improve and expand and I personally want to take time out to thank all who have featured on the blog so far plus those who are reading our blog and sharing the word about it too.  We are a community of book lovers and each individually may not feel we can achieve much but the fact we are as a community being noticed and getting these kind of numbers is thanks to the fact we are getting known as a great

AUTHOR INTERVIEW When did your love of books begin? I've loved books since I was a small child. One of my earliest memories is my mother reading Over in the Meadow to me in a sing-song voice. I also remember wanting to learn to read. My mom told me that I would learn to read when I started first grade. I was four years old when she caught me under the covers with a flashlight reading a book. I started to cry because I thought I'd be in trouble for knowing how to read before I started school! I loved mysteries as a child and read all the Trixie Beldon books before graduating to Nancy Drew - and I was not above reading a few Hardy Boys mysteries as well! I loved getting lost in the stacks, but I also would go back to same spot over and over. The library had several different editions of my favorite book, Peter Pan. I checked out every single one because they all had different illustrations and I wanted to see them all. When did you start to have the wish to become an author? Even as a kid I loved writing my own stories. I filled notebooks with little picture books and cartoons. I have always had a dream to write a book and see it published. I think the first time was when I discovered Zene Lion’s Harry the Dirty Dog series, then the very un PC, at the moment, Tintin , because of all the stereotypes; aged 11 when I read Anne of Green Gables , and then aged sixteen when I read my first novels by Ernest Hemingway, A Farewell to Arms and For Whom the Bell Tolls , and then Agatha Christie’s novels, and again when I read Jane Eyre , and then when Michael Jackson wrote Thriller.
