Growing up I always loved to ready but now it is a challenge to find the time with a busy work and home life. When did you start to have the wish to become an author? My son Stan has autism and was the first kid in our county to swim on a varsity swim team. He became a local celebrity and won numerous awards. People always mentioned to me that I should write Stan's story so I did. How have you found the process for becoming an author? I found the process to be easier than I thought.  What would you say to those wanting to become an author? I would say definitely write a book. It can be more rewarding than you know and leave you with a real sense of accomplishment.  Tell us about your book/books: The book is called Don't Give Up The Stan Adams Jr Story.  The memoire is about my son Stan. It discusses the early

K G Leslie interview

AUTHOR INTERVIEW A little introduction: I grew up and still live in the North West of England. I trained as a journalist but had no love for it, and diverted into a healthcare profession instead. My clinical career is a huge part of my life, but the desire to escape into a fictional world of my own creation never left me, so now I’m doing both because I appear to be mad. When did your love of books begin? I particularly remember loving the Animals of Farthing Wood series by Colin Dann as a kid. My parents are both avid sci-fi readers and as a teen I was introduced to the likes of Orson Scott Card and Frank Herbert, but my darker side began to explore Stephen King’s work. That's when I realised you could still have depth and style, even if you were writing about a killer car. When did you start to have the wish to become an author? I planned my first novel around the age of ten. It was about a wolf and was imaginatively titled "The Wolf". I wrote half of it on my mum's

Asa Rodriguez interview

AUTHOR INTERVIEW A little introduction: Hello, dear reader.  My name is Asael Rodriguez, and I’m an indie author.   I am Latino from Argentina, but I currently reside in the United States.  I want to thank you for reading this.  I value your time very much, and I hope you are interested by what I have to say.  When did your love of books begin? I guess I have always found words and creativity important, because from a young age I was always curious, reading, exploring, playing video games; and especially writing my own stories and drawing.  But I can also remember that books were my escape from many things I didn’t like.  But more than an escape, they were my ticket to learning more about myself and about the world.  Good storytelling is meant to inspire and free the mind; my mind and the reader’s. When did you start to have the wish to become an author? Interesting question.  The answer is that I always did, I just didn’t know it then.  I always wrote things and wanted to find ways

Mortimer Langford interview

AUTHOR INTERVIEW A little introduction: Greetings! Tis I, your friendly neighborhood WriterMan, Mortimer Langford. That is the pen name for a certain individual residing in Saint Paul Minnesota. I mostly write sci fi, fantasy and horror. During the day, I work as a programmer, and I live with my wife and our three extremely hairy, extremely needy children who use litter boxes because they are seemingly incapable of using a regular restroom. I have been a writer off and on for 15 years, though I have only been taking it seriously as a potential career for 8. In my spare time, when I’m not writing, I can be found participating in various nerdy activities such as tabletop gaming, Magic, watching movies, and playing video games. My wife and I also enjoy the theater scene and comedy, something I’m hoping to get back to now that we are seemingly settled into our home (we moved here last summer). When did your love of books begin? I had to double check because my mom picks on me for always ge

Eva Horner interview

AUTHOR INTERVIEW When did your love of books begin? My love of books is from childhood on. Many small books I have memorized, after reading them myself many times, and shared those with my children. My daughter does it now for her children. She knows, exactly, all of the book before re-telling it. You have to make them love books before they grab your phone for gaming! When did you start to have the wish to become an author? Just 2 years ago! I realized there are still some characters in me that are not yet out of the box. I studied colour therapy for many years and practiced it, also. The colours of your soul reflect your inner treasure, for instance. Turquise and dark blue. The creativity of turquoise I lived already, an expectation of my style. But the dark blue, which is about speaking or writing, was jailed in my subconsciousness until 2 years ago. It broke out, living and admiring nature in East Africa. In Thailand it opened completely. Writing became my first thought when I woke

M.Y. Hauger interview

AUTHOR INTERVIEW When did you start to have the wish to become an author? I've always wanted to be a writer, even at an early age. When I was younger, I wrote poetry but set it aside for a while. Later, I became interested in writing stories. It really began for me nearly four years ago when I decided to write a fanfiction story about characters from a video game. After I had written it, I decided to change some of the elements of the story in order to make it my own. That's how I wrote my first book. Eventually, it became a series. I also wrote other stories that became a series, and that includes several spinoffs, one of which became one of my biggest series. On the side, I also like to create games that are based on my stories. They're nothing fancy, but I enjoy doing them. What do you love about the writing/reading community? As for the writing community, I enjoy being able to connect with like-minded people who share a love for writing. I also love how supportive the w

John Reger interview

AUTHOR INTERVIEW A little introduction: My name is John Reger and I have been a professional writer for more than 35 years. I studied journalism and creative writing at Long Beach State and got a job at a newspaper before I graduated. I covered news in the beginning but after getting shot at during the LA Riots (1992) I decided to cover sports.  I covered professional sports for two decades and wrote three books, including Quotable Wooden.  Now I am breaking out from sports and writing in other areas. I live in Las Vegas and plan on moving to Italy to the house I bought.  When did your love of books begin? I was a reader from a young age, reading the usual teen books like A Separate Peace and The Outsiders. But I read unusual books as well. I remember reading Helter Skelter, a book about the Manson murders.   When did you start to have the wish to become an author? I always said I didn’t choose writing, it chose me. I remember in high school having an essay question test and just sitti

AUTHOR INTERVIEW A little introduction: My name is Emiliano Trujillo, I’m the author of Steel City Nightmares. I’m a Colorado native who grew up in Pueblo, Co and the setting for my book. I’m a husband and father of 2 boys.  When did your love of books begin? I don’t remember life without books, both of my parents made it a point to have a bookshelf in every room, including mine and my sister’s. We would also take frequent trips to the library and check out stacks of books, my favorite being about dinosaurs.  When did you start to have the wish to become an author? I’ve loved writing since I was in middle school, but decided it was my dream only a couple years ago. How have you found the process for becoming an author? Trail and error! I never felt like giving up, but I have been hard on myself to meet personal deadlines and productivity goals.  What would you say to those wanting to become an author? Embrace that impostor syndrome, write and keep writing. You have a story in you that

Robert Rootes interview

AUTHOR INTERVIEW A little introduction: I’m from New York, moved around a few times, ended up in Alaska for a long time, before returning to the lower-forty-eight again. We currently reside in Virginia. When did your love of books begin? Introverted and lost a parent early in my life set me on the path. I could have become a serial killer, or just a writer, I chose the latter. When did you start to have the wish to become an author? I remember writing my first book around the age of twelve/thirteen. It was a meandering, deeply plagiarizing experiment that needed to happen so I knew how dreadfully awful it was before it got better.  How have you found the process for becoming an author? It’s a daunting process. The evolution of the literary world changed right about the time I got serious about making it as a writer. I went to school later in life, got a BA in English, AAS (associate of applied science degree). My first attempts at published work came at the high cost of rejection and U
