Feed My Reads recommended in 2022 - day 102

Feed My Reads recommended in 2022 and we are at day 102 which sees Graham Norton enter our list with his quick read The Swimmer.  There was never a plan to read work by Graham Norton but when picking up a number of quick read books I decided we had to try it for the community to know if this was someone worth checking out and must say that it was a pleasant surprise.

Helen is a retired teacher living on the Irish coast. She enjoys the peace and quiet - despite the burden of Margaret, her unpleasant sister. Margaret arrived three years ago for a short holiday, but somehow managed to stay and worm her way into Helen's life.

One day, Helen sees a man struggling in the sea and decides to investigate. She doesn't quite know what it is, but something about it feels very strange...

Review:

Helen is retired and finds herself sitting on the beach with a nice little glass of something to just watch the world go by but after spotting a man enter the water to go for a swim and then finding he hasn't returned when she wakes from a nap, she decides to raise the alarm but when no body is found and the police determine he must have drowned, Helen realises things might not be as they seem.

This book is well written and delivers a story that makes plenty of sense throughout whilst delivering twists and turns that this kind of book needs.  I found the story flowed well and that it drew me in and I wanted to turn the page rather than ever put the book down.
