AUTHOR INTERVIEW A little introduction: I was born in the Canadian Rockies and now live in Nova Scotia. I was a musician for decades and finally gave it up in 2019 as forty years was enough. In between work and family I wrote first for newspapers and then web content, until the companies began hiring guys from India who could do keywords at a fraction of the cost. No regrets. When did your love of books begin? It was easier to love books in the 1960's because there was one bad radio station and one TV channel. Comic books were the big draw for me and I think my love of story telling began there. Then came Farley Mowatt and anything with natives in it. When did you start to have the wish to become an author? I always wanted to write but forgot to take typing at school. My essays at university were dreadful because I couldn't afford a typist. Book -  Evansville Monsters Author -  Kyle Darnell Rating -  Review: This fun and imaginative book set in Evansville Indiana "my home town" was a very enjoyable read. The author takes you on a monster filled tour of Evansville featuring many of the well known land marks from around town and the monsters that inhabit those spots. I also enjoy the way the author was able to connect many of the stories characters from one story to the next. I enjoyed it very much.

Book -  Animo (Book 1 of the Sationem Series) Author -  Lisa Ann Rowe Rating -  Review: Willow has been awaiting her awakening which will see her find out about her powers and discover more about herself than she can ever imagine but when her parents are confirmed as missing and others in the area begin to disappear too it becomes clear that more is to come than just her awakening. This is a coming of age story which is well thought out and is a story I did enjoy overall but there are a few little markdowns, first of all the writing is very simplistic in some parts and I'm not sure if this is simply due to the age range the book is aimed at but for me it did detract a little from what I found to be an overall good story.  The biggest markdown?  The editing for me left a lot to be desired and dragged the score down by one full point which was something I was disappointed by as the story did feel unique and well thought out with good characters but I have to judge...

Book -  It's Okay: A Social Emotional Book for Kids That Helps With Self-Regulation Author -  Dynamic Kids Press Rating -  Review: This children's book is one that is designed to help children to understand emotions through the finding of a watch and whilst I found the book to be written well and with good illustrations, I do have to mark this down as for me the fact a child finds a watch and keeps it is actually teaching a bad lesson as surely they would be taught to hand this in or try to find the owner.

Book -  Revelations at the Midnight Circus  (The Deadly Exclusives) Author -  Dominique Daoust Rating -  Review: Rita Larose has spent her time of late solving murders but the fact she has managed to put together a group of murders which were apparently not similar and now found that they were perpetrated by the same killer, but the question remains, who is the killer? With the Midnight Circus in town Rita has decided to help take her mind off things by visiting but when another murder happens it appears that the murders are following her and getting closer and closer to her but can she solve the case before things become too close to home? This is another well written book which as great character work and a setting that suits the content but a little markdown from me for a few little edits and the overuse of phrases from the characters, does it mean you shouldn't read it?  I'd still recommend this series and this is an ending that works well to tie everything ...

For as long as I can remember, I've loved stories. My grandparents spent lots of time reading to me before I began school, which started my fascination.
