I am an engineer by profession, but an ardent lover of literature. When did your love of books begin? The love of books took root quite early in my childhood. I read, literally devoured, all kinds of books: story books, poems, novels and plays. When did you start to have the wish to become an author? I write primarily spicy romance that borders on smut (my stories have plots, but a lot of s3x). In my non-book life I'm a neurodivergent mother of two young boys, I love my dog and caffeine the most, and I prefer books to people in general. When did your love of books begin? I have loved to read since before I can remember. AUTHOR INTERVIEW A little introduction: I am born in Jakarta and raised mostly in Singapore. I lived in Hong Kong and France and have travelled extensively over the years. I published Late Dawn, my speculative fiction novel, in 2019 and was an invited author at the Ubud Readers and Writers Festival that same year. Speculative fiction or soft science fiction is my favourite genre to write but I sometimes also write fantasy. I am currently working on a short story collection of climate fiction. AUTHOR INTERVIEW A little introduction: I grew up in Grand Rapids, MI, spending an excessive amount of time at a local community theater where I developed my affinity for storytelling. This affinity grew into a deep admiration for language and spoken word poetry while studying mathematics and education at the University of Michigan. A few hundred mediocre poems and lackluster performances later, I decided my dream of writing a novel might not be as ridiculous as I once thought. AUTHOR INTERVIEW When did your love of books begin? I've loved books my whole life! My mom introduced me to a world of books, and my earliest memories include weekly visits to the library. When did you start to have the wish to become an author? It started when I was old enough to write my own stories. I wrote my first "book" in kindergarten. My teacher was so enthusiastic she sent me to the other classrooms to share it with them. How have you found the process for becoming an author? It's been a long journey from writing my first manuscript to publication, filled with a lot of twists and turns along the way. AUTHOR INTERVIEW When did your love of books begin? Well, not so much with books but became passionate about studying and found my creative streak through academic work. I left school with minimum qualifications and was diagnosed with dyslexia in my final year of university. It was my creative energy that drove me to write. When did you start to have the wish to become an author? A few years ago, actually about 10 years ago. AUTHOR INTERVIEW A little introduction: My name is Jarrod L. Taylor, and I’m a combat veteran, an educator, and apparently on some level, a writer. I’m originally from Illinois, but I’ve lived in upstate New York, Hawaii, and now Kentucky. I married my high school sweetheart in 2001, and we have two children.
