Review:

May 1706, with her father having been found dead and it being determined it was a suicide, Ana has to find the strength to help her mother and brothers come to terms with things quickly but when she realises it wasn't a suicide and starts to question things she finds herself at odds with the most powerful people possible.  As all of this happens the black mountain looms large over all of their lives.

This is a well written and intriguing story that was my first piece of Kate Mosse work I've read and I was pleasantly surprised by the depth of the story and the writing style.  This maybe a quick read but the story is packed full of things happening throughout and so you don't feel short changed in any way by this being put together in this way.
