When did your love of books begin?

I started writing in elementary school. First with poetry, then in middle school, I started writing short stories. It was high school I started with my first book. I've loved writing for as long as I can remember, yet I wasn't much of an avid reader until my 20s when I got my first pair of glasses, and the letters stayed put on the pages.

When did you start to have the wish to become an author?

I don't really know when this dream first developed, but I was told that I said even in elementary school I was going to be an author.

How have you found the process for becoming an author?

The process of becoming a traditionally published author, seems almost impossible, especially for someone, like me, who's writing under a pen name, and suffers with such extreme anxiety that I cannot be out in the world as me. That's how I ended up on Twitter and started my website. I'm trying to build a platform, so publishers and agents will take me seriously.

What would you say to those wanting to become an author?

I will never discourage someone else's dream of becoming an author. What I will say is be patient, work hard, and try to not get discouraged with the endless process. If they're someone that can be out in the public and really promote yourself, self publishing can be an easier option, and in today's world some authors can be very successful with it. Just do your research and know the ins and outs before committing to anything. Also constructive criticism can be a useful tool, and try to use it to better your work. When I first started having people read my work I was told I wrote in "too proper English, and I should not be so proper." I used that and made the changes, and my work is only better for it.

Tell us about your book/books:

I have eight romances done and ready to publish. Those are all modern day, heartwarming, and sweet romances. Clean enough for teenagers to read, and yet enjoyable enough for anyone would likes a great romance to read. The titles of those eight are still works in progress, so I can't share them at this point. I also am almost to the end of a series of children books, that has a short, moral building story for every letter in the alphabet. I'm planning on titling that one Growing with the ABCs. I'm hoping to be able to publish that as one collection. I'm also working on a western story, that I might turn into a series of three books. The first title, of the one I'm working on currently, is Born a Lawman. It depends on how the first one turns out, if I will be writing two more to make it a seriers. I also write some non-fiction. I have finished a book, that's kind of like a memoir, but not exactly that. It's a collection of examples of traumatic events or bullying throughout my life, used to show it's possible to break the cycle, and have a better life. I've titled that one, Rising Above, Breaking the Cycle. It's a different type of book that has nothing to do with healing, and isn't written by a doctor. It's just about reacting differently than the normal, and not turning the worst part of your life into a life time of more abuse and self harm. The really unique things about any of my books, is that I have a very talented way of bringing insight to others in an enjoyable, but yet subtle way. Another unique quality I have as an author is being able to write emotions into the book that allows the readers to connect and feel the emotions throughout the entire story and plot.

What do you love about the writing/reading community?

I was completely surprised by how supportive the writing / reading community on Twitter is. It was such a wonderful surprise, and it really uplifted my hopes of actually being able to build myself a writing platform and to be taken seriously by agents and publishing companies. Before the support of the writing community, I wasn't sure I'd be able to build enough of a platform to ever be published traditionally under a pen name, where my writing can be just about the books and words within, and not about the author.

First a simple yet huge Thank you! Secondly, I would just like to say I hope my words/books have given them joy, insights into some things, and most importantly love.
