Kelsey McCluskey interview

AUTHOR INTERVIEW

When did your love of books begin?

I remember my grandmother gave us an old TV which came with a sort of bookshelf, and in it were dozens of leather bound classics. I must have been 10.  The first one I read was Little Women.

When did you start to have the wish to become an author?

I guess I’ve always loved writing, but never thought I could until recently. I wrote a series of fan fictions on Wattpad and readers really engaged with me, and I thought ‘wow, maybe I can do this.’

How have you found the process for becoming an author?

Degrading. No, it’s been tumultuous, but for the most part I’ve enjoyed it. When I’m not wrestling with my self loathing.

What would you say to those wanting to become an author?

Do it, and it’s never too late. It will be the hardest but most rewarding thing you’ll ever do.  Besides childbirth.

Tell us about your book/books:

Dear Bad Boy is a will they won’t they love story spanning over twelve years. It seems that everything gets in Eva and Stones way, but nothing more than them themselves. It's pretty heartbreaking throughout, but it has a happy ending.

What do you love about the writing/reading community?

How inclusive it is, there’s no hostility. Everyone’s just here to learn, promote and help out. It’s been really nice.

If you could say anything to your readers what would it be?

I enjoy breaking hearts, and putting them back together. Also, smut. I like writing smut.

Where can people connect with you?

I have two TikTok accounts, one for my writing @authorkmc and another for fan fiction, and general drooling over Chris Evans and several other Marvel stars, @kelbpov.
