When did your love of books begin?

I have always loved to read. Books are magical! I got my first library card at four.

When did you start to have the wish to become an author?

I have always loved reading and mysteries, so it just seemed a natural fit to write what I love. I wrote my first mystery short story in the 7th grade. It was about a dog, Sharealot Bones, who solved crimes.

How have you found the process for becoming an author?

It’s a lot of work. Writers need patience and perseverance. They also need to build their platforms (website, email list, social media sites) and to constantly hone their craft.

What would you say to those wanting to become an author?

If you want to be published, you need to persevere. Writing is a business. It takes a lot of work to create your book, prepare it for the world, and to do the 100+ marketing tasks that are needed.

Tell us about your book/books:

I write the Delanie Fitzgerald Private Eye series. I also have two cozy series, the Jules Keene Glamping Mysteries and the Mermaid Bay Christmas Shoppe Mysteries (2023).

Vintage Trailers and Blackmailers is the first book in the Jules Keene Glamping mystery series. There is nothing like finding a dead body, clad only in a red satin thong, on your property to jolt you from a quiet routine. Jules Keene, owner of the posh Fern Valley Camping Resort in the Blue Ridge Mountains, is thrust into the world of the Dark Web when one of her guests, Ira Perkins, is found murdered in the woods near her vintage trailers. Jules quickly discovers that the man who claimed to be on a writing retreat was not what he seemed, and someone will go to any length to find what he left at her resort. Jules, along with her Jack Russell Terrier sidekick Bijou, has to put the rest of the missing pieces of a blackmailing scheme together before her glamping business is ruined.

What do you love about the writing/reading community?

Writing is often a lonely endeavor. Writers need a crew of authors to share ideas with and to share celebrations and disappointments. I am so fortunate to be a part of some many great writers group. Authors are so generous with their time and support.

If you could say anything to your readers what would it be?

I love my readers. You make it possible to share the adventures of Delanie, Jules, and Jade. Thank you!
