AUTHOR INTERVIEW

When did your love of books begin?

I think my true love would be storytelling, not only in books but all shapes and sizes. This love began from listening to my grandma and other elders talking about their lives. With books, I actually have a love/hate relationship due to dyslexia. But I am challenging myself to read more, becoming an author has had this effect on me of wanting to know what my fellow authors have to say.

When did you start to have the wish to become an author?

For years, since I was a teenager. I started writing poems at first, which is something I continued doing since then. And for years I also wanted to have a publishing company. This dream and my passion for writing combined pushed me to become an author.

How have you found the process for becoming an author?

It has been very liberating, yet challenging at times. My first project is a bit out of the box when it comes to books, so I was nervous about how the readers will take it.

What would you say to those wanting to become an author?

Just do it! If this is your passion, it is incredibly transformative to write down your story. What ever that may be.

Tell us about your book/books:

I recently published my first book, A Tale of Her. A short story with poetry and illustrations. It is my personal story, I started with this because it is really the story about what pushed me over the edge to pursue my dreams. So, I thought it the best place to start. The book takes you on an emotional journey of life and self-discovery.

What do you love about the writing/reading community?

The community so far has been super supportive! This is so great for new authors, very welcoming. It makes me feel less alone in my journey.

If you could say anything to your readers what would it be?

I’m still getting to know my readers, but for those who have taken the time to read and give me feedback (reviews). I am very grateful for their interest in my work, my story, and for the support they have shown me. I have so much more to tell you!
