A little introduction:
I'm Amy Shannon, a former author, which is due to a disability. I am a professional book reviewer (no charge), book editor, literary promoter and literary consultant.
What made you start your blog?
A friend I met years ago, we became close and wanted to start doing a small book review blog. We read each other's work, and wanted to branch out to others. She passed away before we could get started, but I continued on.
Which part of having the blog do you love most?
Meeting the authors, even if it's through email, and reading their work.
Where did the name for your blog come from?
I looked around at my physical bookshelves that I have in my home.
What do you love most about books?
They take you to a place you've never been before, and every author has a different writing style. I like books that are unpredictable, and books that I learn something new, even if it's a unique writing style.
What genres do you blog about?
I review for all authors, most any genre, except those that promote hate, bias, racism, or violence.
What are your favourite books?
Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman. MacBeth by William Shakespeare. I really enjoy reading true crime books as well.
What are your 3 top reads from the last year?
There are so many, I can't put a number on it, but I do have a top 10 book list on my review website, and a top 20 author's list for the year on the website as well.
