Quinn Blueheart interview
AUTHOR INTERVIEW
A little introduction:
I’ve dabbled with writing erotic stories for several years, but only recently published my first book. Of course, more stories are on the way both on my blog and in book form. My stories are about connection and romance with some taboo subjects to engage the reader in exploring their own sexuality. I hope my stories encourage individuals and couples to discover, accept, and expand aspects of their own desires
When did your love of books begin?
Unsurprisingly, I have always enjoyed books. For fun, I read mostly sci-fi (and romance/erotica.) I remember one summer when I devoured L Ron Hubbard’s ten volume Mission Earth series. It’s not for everyone, but I was struck by the ability to create worlds that stir self-discovery inside the reader.
When did you start to have the wish to become an author?
I think I wanted to be an author since I learned to read. I recall making little books for my parents as a young child. I cut up paper and stapled the pages together after writing out my story. When my parents got home for work, I’d show them what I made while they were away.
How have you found the process for becoming an author?
Learning the process of an author is an ongoing challenge. I made several attempts to write a book in the past, but always gave up. One reason was that I keep my writing secret out of self-doubt, hence I had no encouragement to keep with it. Eventually, other things took priority and my writing projects were never finished. Finally, I started sharing what I was doing. Having response and feedback has made a huge difference in completing my works.
What would you say to those wanting to become an author?
Write what you enjoy and others will find you. Although building an up audience for your unique perspective is difficult, your enjoyment will be apparent to readers.
Tell us about your book/books:
While I have a blog of short stories and musings, my first book is “Naked at the Lakehouse.” While it is a steamy little story, it is also about building connection and learning to accept vulnerability. The story centers around a young couple in need of a breakthrough in their relationship among all of the competing priorities that surround them. As they head off to the Lakehouse, their distractions are gradually stripped away until all that’s left is the two of them in a rather vulnerable situation. Of course, there will be sequels and other stories to tell over time.
What do you love about the writing/reading community?
I love the great diversity of subjects and writers. I love that there is always someone out there who wants or needs to hear the story you have to tell.
If you could say anything to your readers what would it be?
Where can people connect with you?
