Review:

Ella is a teen on the verge of becoming an adult. She works in a coffee shop, goes to school and has a family with money behind her to catch her if she falls but when she finds a homeless boy who is about her age (whose name is Ayden) at the back of the coffee shop she has a choice to make on whether to run or to stop and find out more about him. Taking the latter option Ella finds herself building some level of connection Ayden but will she be able to understand and trust him for his decisions he is making?

Having read something by Kai Strand in the past I was looking forward to a great writing style that flows beautifully and thankfully this book delivered on that. The story being told here is an interesting one and one of the things that drew me to this is that there is a second book available (Worth the Effort: Ayden's Story) which tells things from Ayden's point of view and I can confirm that the second book is on my Kindle and set to be read so Kai has once again delivered on a book that made me want to see what happens next.

This is a really interesting read that makes the reader think about their own situation in life as you consider how you would react to the situations at hand for Ella. The writing is excellent and the author has delivered a great story in a way that leaves you wanting to know more as you have become involved with the characters during the short space of time you've got to know them.
