A.E. Bennett interview

AUTHOR INTERVIEW

A little introduction:

Hello there! I’m Bennett and I write SFF and romance. I’m currently working on Book Two of my series, the Serrulata Saga.

When did your love of books begin?

I’ve loved books my entire life. I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t carrying one or two around with me.

When did you start to have the wish to become an author?

My mother was cleaning out their basement the other day and found a comic-like drawing of mermaids I did when I was probably in first or second grade. So, I’ve wanted to be an author since I was very little.

How have you found the process for becoming an author?

There’s definitely a lot I didn’t know before self-publishing. I made a lot of mistakes when it came to marketing and I’m still learning new things every day. No one told me the easiest part of being an indie author would be completing a manuscript! Ha!

What would you say to those wanting to become an author?

Stick with it! I’m not sure I’d call myself a particularly successful author just yet, but writing has always been my passion and if even one person reads my books and likes them, I consider that a win. Don’t give up!

Tell us about your book/books:

The Serrulata Saga takes place in the distant future – 4385, to be exact. The Hale-Bopp comet has returned, the United States is no more, and the Realm stands in its place.

Gathering of the Four is the first book in the series and tells the story of Leora of Mae, a poor peasant woman with extraordinary powers called Xanthcraft. She’s forced to flee the only home she’s ever known and, while she runs for her life, meets Roland Shallowbrook, Lady Aurora Verte, and Leopold, a former soldier.

I also have a prequel romance novella, Yours and Mine, which is available now to pre-order and comes out on 12/1.

What do you love about the writing/reading community?

The support! Accounts like yours help indie authors like me gain exposure. I think you’re fantastic! Thanks so much for this opportunity.

If you could say anything to your readers what would it be?

I really hope you like my books. I’d love to hear from you—head to the ‘contact’ page on my website. Oh, and please, please leave a review!

Where can people connect with you?
