Book review - Hoglets' Birthday Surprise by Lynette Creswell

Image
Book - Hoglets' Birthday Surprise Author - Lynette Creswell Rating -  Review: A birthday is a great thing and time to explore with your loved ones is even more exciting but when you come across a witch is it going to be a great day still or is this going to be a birthday to forget? Full of charm, cute illustrations and a story that shows you shouldn't judge, this is a book which really is a great one for those young readers and one I could see being enjoyed as a story they would want you to read to them or with them and the illustrations really do add to the story to create something highly recommended.

Book review - A Good Man by S.M. Revolinski

Book - A Good Man Author - S.M. Revolinski Rating -  Review: Morgan could never imagine finding someone dying on his travels but he does the right thing in being there for the man as he takes his last breath but a good man doesn't just leave the body in the desert when he could return him to the family. This is a well written short story that gives a feel of the wild west where it would be set and the characters are all believable.  This is simply the beginning of the story but drew me in enough that I purchased the next couple of short stories in the series straight after finishing this one.

Book review - 9 Days by Jule Selbo

Image
Book - 9 Days Author - Jule Selbo Rating -  Review: Jule Selbo is back with another Dee Rommel mystery and this time her client is a child who is desperate to clear his mother of the charge of murder but can a child being a client really ever be a good idea and especially when considering how biased their opinion is due to the situation they are in? Dee Rommel is one of those characters who you truly buy into and thanks to the excellent writing by Jule you are able to be drawn in and have the visualisation of the story as you read. This is an author who is highly recommended and the only little markdown is the editing towards the end of the book is somewhat frustrating and I feel for the author that it does have this as this is something that the publisher should be ensuring is right before the book is released.

Book interview - The Demagogue Wars

Image
Please tell us a little about the book The Demagogue Wars is a cautionary tale for all Americans. The clarion call to turn away from the divisive politics of 2020 (the year I began writing), the totality of destruction caused by civil war(s), and the unimaginable horrors of a future WWIII; with terrifying, highly-advanced weapons systems that could easily end life as we know it on earth. Where did the inspiration come from for your book? Oh, man! Where to start?!? The world news via mainstream and broadcast media. The Joe Rogan Experience. Clips of Professor Jordan Peterson. The movie “The Tomorrow War” starring the incomparable Chris Pratt. The 80’s hit movie “Red Dawn.” The dark (evil?) corners of social media: think radicalization of youth or the disenfranchised/ marginalized (ISIS, Q-Anon, Antifa). How did you find the experience of writing this book? It was a rollercoaster for sure! One minute it’s exhilarating and the next you doubt yourself to the point of swearing off keyboards...
