T.R. Davis interview
AUTHOR INTERVIEW
When did your love of books begin?
I have loved reading books my entire life. I had The Hobbit as a picture book before I could read. As soon as I could figure out the words, I was hooked. I read everything and anything.
When did you start to have the wish to become an author?
Every time I read a book I want to write one myself. My imagination takes off every time, and I wonder what I would do differently, or I think up alternate paths.
How have you found the process for becoming an author?
I finished my first book in my late forties, and I have a lot of regret that I didn't start sooner in life. I found the writing to be a wonderful outlet for my imagination. Publishing nowdays is simple enough as an indie writer. The only thing I have trouble with is marketing. I would rather write than market. But I am trying...
What would you say to those wanting to become an author?
Its work. Enjoyable, wonderful work, but still work all the same. A lot of days I have to push myself to write. But once I start, I can usually find my groove. I have about a dozen WIP's currently, and it is easy to find something matching my mood to work on.
Tell us about your book/books:
My first three books are about inherited memory. A genetic mutation gives my characters access to the memories of long-dead relatives, usually someone historically notable. My books delve into both the current lives of the characters, and the lives of the ancestors. Book 1 (Flashback) involves a company exploiting the children for ulterior motives, and a young girl's journey in fighting back against them.
What do you love about the writing/reading community?
I'm new to this, but my feed is filled with writers supporting other writers. I find that wonderful.
If you could say anything to your readers what would it be?
Thank you for taking a chance on a new(ish) author. I hope to have a long and productive journey.
Where can people connect with you?
