Review:

Skin Deep tells the story of Destiny, a 13 year old who enters a competition which is all about beauty but a competition that focuses not just on outer beauty but also on the beauty inside and the talents that people have.  After taking part in the photo shoot and everything looking to be going to plan though Destiny has a major problem that is going to cause her to focus on inner beauty more than ever and see her have to decide if she should walk away from the competition or challenge the things society considers to be accepted for beauty.

This is a heart-warming story that focuses on friendship, loving yourself and also on never giving up, it is wonderfully written by an author who was a true talent and is sadly missed by many in the literary world.  If you haven't had a chance to check out work by Malaika Rose Stanley then this is a great way to find out just why she is considered to be so great.
