Ann Parker interview

AUTHOR INTERVIEW

When did your love of books begin?

Probably when I learned to read! I got in "trouble" in primary school for reading instead of listening.

When did you start to have the wish to become an author?

I had a very inspiring friend in middle school. We were both book lovers and she wanted to become an author. We helped each other grow and experiment until the end of high school.

How have you found the process for becoming an author?

Writing is the easy part. All the rest is difficult, from finding the time to write to get your work published. Yet, it won't stop me to do it again and again.

What would you say to those wanting to become an author?

Do it. Write what you have to write, there is a reason why you have this need, this story to tell, whispered by your characters. In the end, it does not matter if it is published or just enjoyed by yourself & your family, you would have created a world, created a form of life and that's all that matter.

Tell us about your book/books:

My first novel was published last month, it's historical fiction following two young women, one French and the other American, trying to escape their circumstances (an arranged marriage for the former and the loss of her fiance for the second).
Oh, and there are pirates!

What do you love about the writing/reading community?

I like connecting with people from various backgrounds and interests, it always creates challenging discussions and I believe that is how we grow as people and writers, learning new things, discovering new ideas and learning different ways to live.

If you could say anything to your readers what would it be?

Writers are nothing without their readers. You are the ones in control with the power to make a writer's day amazing or a complete hell, so be careful!

Where can people connect with you?

People can find me on Twitter (@WriterAParker), I also have a website (https://authorannparker.co.uk) and an Amazon page (https://www.amazon.com/Ann-Parker/e/B0B3HLH77M?ref_=pe_1724030_132998060).
