Juan L. Mira interview

AUTHOR INTERVIEW

A little introduction:

My name is Juan L. Mira and I am a writer. I was born in the small town of Melilla in 1978 and currently live in Madrid, Spain. I have a daughter, two dogs, and a blog with short stories, as well as my novels and screenplays.

When did your love of books begin?

My love for them started when I was 6 years old. My father gave me the first story I ever read to myself, and ever since then it has been real magic. Since then I can not be with one or several books started at home. I could not live without it.

When did you start to have the wish to become an author?

I wrote my first story when I was 8 years old, but it wasn't until I was 13 years old, when I read Stephen King and said to myself: "I want to do this. I want to tell stories and create new worlds."

How have you found the process for becoming an author?

Hard. Very hard. Writing for me is easy. Stories have always occurred to me and getting them out of my interior is a more or less easy process. But trying to get them out there, being a published author by publisher company is really hard. They publish already established authors and do not dare with beginning authors. And if they do, it's very carefully. Nowadays it is a great idea to be a indie author. And that's what I'm going to do for now.

What would you say to those wanting to become an author?

I would tell them to write a lot. Find the moment each day and write a minimum of 500 words. Those words per year will have become more than 180,000 and with that you already have a novel to try to sell. That they fight, that they fight hard every day because dreams come true, but you have to go catch them. Nobody gives you anything for free.

Tell us about your book/books:

Well, right now I have just published the first part of "The Zone", which will be a saga with a minimum of three books. It's about a world completely dominated by 15 vampire races and how a group of humans try to flee from The Zone.

In addition, I am preparing several novels:

— "The harvest of Satan", a horror story about a satanic sect.

— "Dhaymus", a fantasy novel, of which I cannot tell much yet.

— "They are mine", the true story of a witch who kidnapped children and killed them to maintain her youth.

— "Untitled yet", a youthful fantasy story mixed with horror.

And some more lol

What do you love about the writing/reading community?

Well, I love being able to share experiences, meet other authors and readers and feel closer to them because it really is a good community. You meet really interesting people. If you need anything, they are there to help you.

If you could say anything to your readers what would it be?

I would tell them to read my books, lol just kidding. They would tell them to read a lot and, if possible, varied. Because there are amazing worlds in the books and they deserve to be explored. It is a truly unique experience.

Where can people connect with you?
