A little personal update

A little update from the man behind the scenes.

First of all a massive thank you to each and every one of you who takes the time to read this and that you choose to be part of our Feed My Reads community.

I thought I'd give a little update as I appreciate that things have been a little more quiet of late and it is important that you understand that we are all in this together.

Over the years I have been diagnosed with Generalised Anxiety Disorder and Borderline Personality Disorder among many other things but for over 17 years I have managed to remain in full time employment and work in a job on the phones dealing with customers in a complicated role that I have found to have been made a great deal easier thanks to having the ability to work from home due to Covid.  Now that our company is seeing a gradual return to the office I had my first day in the office for over 2 years which massively impacted on my mental health and so I reached out to my doctor to discuss the impact and following discussions it was agreed that he would be able to refer me to get confirmed as being on the autistic spectrum but it would take 1 to 2 years minimum for a diagnosis.  This has been a lot to take in and I have had to take time to process the information and work through things to confirm it does not change who I am but is simply placing a label to why my brain works the way that it does.

Many of my ideas for this community come about thanks to my brain working differently and so the condition is one that is a double edged sword and it simply takes me a little step back sometimes to get things lined back up in the right way.  I have been working on a new idea for the community and so hopefully that time away will be able to lead to something exciting coming very soon.

Please do continue to spread the word about us and send great people our way as this is your community and we love having the most amazing people be part of what we do and what we are all about.  Remember too that you can ask questions of the community, get to know each other, etc and we are here to help to facilitate that for you.
