Bryony Best interview

AUTHOR INTERVIEW

A little introduction:

My name is Bryony Best and I live in Hayling Island, Hampshire. I work as a holistic therapist, and enjoy living a life of mindfulness and wellbeing. I have written poems since I was a child, and I finished writing my first novel in 2018.

When did your love of books begin?

As a child, I would find great comfort reading Enid Blyton books.

When did you start to have the wish to become an author?

I never truly wanted to become an author, that desire grew after I had published my first book.
The initial inspiration was just to write about my life experiences, whether that would be just for me or others was never decided.

How have you found the process for becoming an author?

I am enjoying being an author, and having the platform to reach into others mind. The marketing can be overwhelming, especially if you work full time to finance your house-hold and everyday bills.

What would you say to those wanting to become an author?

Write about something you are passionate about and the creativity just flows. Reach out to other authors and gain some valuable advice moving into the world of publishing.

Tell us about your book/books:

The Girl from Pompey - Discovering the Key to Happiness and Fulfilment; is a brutally honest account of living with and overcoming addiction to sex, alcohol & drugs. Overcoming mental health, and sharing 10 years of research data on happiness & fulfilment! The reviews have been phenomenal, labelling the book as thought provoking and inspirational.

My next book The Girl from Pompey - Conversations with the Dead; is a prequel to my first novel and delves deeper into childhood trauma. Shining a light on mental health and the stages of addiction recovery. The book investigates a question between Bryony's mental health and her abilities to speak with spirits. This book was requested by readers, asking for more information on Bryony's journey in life as a Spiritualist.

What do you love about the writing/reading community?

How friendly and welcoming they are. A reader understands the daily struggle, of having to complete daily tasks when we all we want to do is read!

If you could say anything to your readers what would it be?

Thank you for all of your support, and you all have the ability to change your life.
