Five Fun Facts - D. Ike Horst


Horst has a boxador mixed-breed dog named Vader. Vader is terribly afraid of car rides, but loves to roam the 100-acre farm that he calls his own. He has all the loveable qualities of your archetypal junk-yard dog, but without the junk!

Horst gets his cover art done by his best friend and personal artist, Erik. Erik also owns the farm where Vader roams.

Horst has lived in 5 states in his adult life: California, Idaho, Mississippi, Utah, and Missouri. He has traveled to every state in the United States aside from Alaska and Hawaii.

Horst is an AmeriCorps alumni. During and after his time as a corps member, he has completed 7 long-term disaster deployments and responded to just under 10 wildfires.

Horst uses a pen name because his real surname is too hard to pronounce.

Claude Bouchard interview

AUTHOR INTERVIEW A little introduction: I’m Claude Bouchard, born, raised, and still living in the Montreal (Canada) area. In a prior life, I worked in the corporate world, mainly in human resources management. In 2008, my employer moved our jobs to India and, while I pursued other employment, I published three books I had written long before then continued to write and publish more. Along the way, I realized I had a new job, that of author, and never looked back.  When did your love of books begin? While in kindergarten, my parents had signed me up for a book of the month thing and I remember the excitement whenever a new book showed up in the mail.
