Book interview - Flip The Switch by Christi Buker

Please tell us a little about the book

It is titled Flip The Switch - It is my trauma testimonial. Informally written to relate to the reader. Covers topics of many kids of abuse, addiction, health concerns, infertility, self-harm, and healing.

Where did the inspiration come from for your book?

My life and experiences. I had talked with and helped friends and thought, why not offer my story and journey to others.

How did you find the experience of writing this book?

Therapeutic in a sense. Writing about the bad parts, even after you have healed is a bit taxing, but I also felt it was a type of closure, or finalization.

Did you draw any inspiration from any real life people with any of your characters?

All of them as it is non-fiction.

If you could say anything to readers of this  book then what would it be?

Pain is part of the healing, don’t be afraid to let yourself feel it, just don’t stay there. There are so many resources for help, please reach out. You are not alone.

Are there plans for more from these characters, or is it a stand alone piece?

Stand alone, though I am writing fiction now.
