Synopsis:

At fourteen- years old, Laura Drummond was brutally assaulted and stabbed six times. She survived and spent the better part of a year in a coma.

Now, twenty-four years later,  she is a veteran Homicide detective in the Columbus, Ohio PD. Laura’s tough-as-nails, intelligent, and commitment-phobic but a beautiful real estate agent named Sharon. Laura goes to great lengths to hide her scars, the six stab wounds, and a seventh surgical scar that is low across her belly.

Columbus is a relatively safe city, and the community is rocked when a young college coed is raped and murdered.  At the crime scene, Laura examines the victim and notes six stab wounds and a sliced low across her belly, like a c-section scar.

With no witnesses and no physical evidence to go on, Laura begins her investigation.  When a second woman is murdered, Laura feels there’s a connection to her assault as a teenager.

When a third victim is discovered, Laura is convinced that there is a connection. Now, she must confront her past to catch the killer.
