Feed My Reads recommended in 2022

Welcome to our Feed My Reads recommended in 2022 post.  This will be something which will allow for Feed My Reads to provide you with a book we recommend you read and we will be doing this as one recommended read a day throughout 2022.

Our first recommended read is What Happened To Coco by VB Furlong which is a truly fantastic read which we reviewed in 2021.  Below is the description and our review too -

When a girl disappears, long-buried secrets resurface…

Coco is missing. Her room’s a mess, and her phone is left behind in her dorm at Lainsbury Hall School

Ella, Coco’s childhood best friend, is desperate for her to return, although she knows that if she ever sees Coco again, there’ll be a lot of explaining to do.

Bea knows that her new group of friends attracts drama, and she thinks she has the last shred of common sense between them all. Only, if that was true, she would leave Genevieve, her toxic ex, well alone.

Conrad is confident that Coco will return safe and well. Only, the way his secrets are unravelling, he’s worried he won’t be when this is all over.

Harrison and Coco are the perfect couple. Everyone knows that. But looks can be misleading. Even the smartest boy in school can make a terrible mistake.

In order to navigate the web of secrets and lies that Coco leaves behind, her circle of friends needs to unravel a few of their own.

But the question remains: What happened to Coco?

Review -

This is the debut novel from VB Furlong and based on this standard of work I am excited to read much more in the future. The story sees a group of teenage friends who stay in the dorms at an exclusive school and we start out by getting to get a feel for the group which for me works perfectly as you immediately build those different thoughts and feelings for the characters which help to make you become much more involved emotionally in the book. As we find out about the group we find that central to this group is Coco who is the girl everyone looks at as being what they wish they could be, she blogs about her life and the followers hang on her every word but when Coco goes missing what happens to the group? Why did Coco disappear? Where is she? What had happened?

As the story moves forward we uncover hidden secrets but will any of those secrets lead us to the ultimate answer?

This book is beautifully written, full of emotion and for me it has that feeling that there is a genuine connection between the author and the words on the page, like this is their baby and it meant a huge amount to them.

This is a truly great book that I can't recommend highly enough and is without down one of the best debut novels I have read.
