Solstice Kahale interview

AUTHOR INTERVIEW

A little introduction:

Hullo! A little bit about me, I've been a ghostwriter for about five years and after having written some very successful best sellers for my clients, I finally decided to try to write under my own name. Solstice Kahale is all about the sweet, wholesome romances that anybody can read.

When did your love of books begin?

Back before I could even read them. Every night my mother would read me myths or other bedtime stories, getting me hooked young.

When did you start to have the wish to become an author?

Seventh grade. I was sitting in English class when the teacher handed back my DBQ. Her notes were all over the place, marking out each thing that she loved, and she used an excerpt from my conclusion to show the class a good example of how to do the assignment.
I remember staring at the projected image on the wall and thinking... What if? What if I was good enough to write like the books I like to read so much?

How have you found the process for becoming an author?

Fairly arduous. As a poor, and then homeless kid, I've always felt two steps behind. And unfortunately, I listened when my parents, school counselor, and just about everyone else told me I wouldn't be able to feed myself if I became a writer. I went to college for something I didn't love and put my writing on the backburner.
I wish I never listened to them.
It is frustrating, however, how much making it in the writing world seems tied into having enough money to go without getting reliable income for quite a while. It makes me wonder how many brilliant authors have never had their words seen because they couldn't afford the right ad on Amazon, or couldn't take the time off to hit their word count.

What would you say to those wanting to become an author?

Do it. I know it's hard. I know that you're exhausted. But it will be so worth it. I promise.

Tell us about your book/books:

I write clean, but intense romances, usually featuring people from opposite walks of life. I do love pairing independant, opinionated working women with billionaires and other bad boys who could use a little bit of guidance on how not to be a terrible person.
I have two books on pre order right now, and a novella that's out for free! My first book will be officially out on December 1st!

What do you love about the writing/reading community?

Part of it is connecting with people, but part of it is creating things that make people feel something. I love when someone laughs at a joke I've written, or feels angered when a character is wronged. I love when they can see themselves in the words I put on the page and go on a journey they can't find anywhere else.

If you could say anything to your readers what would it be?

That you work hard and deserve a bit of kindness. Be nice to yourself.
