The Author School was founded in 2015 by award-winning book publicist and journalist, Helen Lewis and award-winning children's/YA author, Abiola Bello bringing together decades of experience in the publishing industry. Coincidentally, we both had the same idea for The Author School and came together to make it happen. We are passionate about helping authors, giving them accurate guidance and we genuinely want to see them succeed. This is why our prices are affordable but the quality is exceptional.

 

We are really proud to be able to offer you a complete range of services to help you self-publish your book to a high quality level. This is the same time that publish bestselling books at Hashtag Press (www.hashtagpress.co.uk). The biggest problem with self-publishing is its reputation. And this is due to the, frankly, rubbish books that are being churned out quickly that are full of typos, on cheap paper, with an awful cover design that has been hashed together last minute. At The Author School, we’ve been providing bespoke guidance to authors at all stages of the process – from debut writers still working on their first book idea to bestselling authors who have been traditionally published many times over.

The truth is, self-publishing can be a wonderful thing. So many doors can open for an author with the publication of their book… but it’s so important to make sure that the book represents you to the optimum, which is why we make tailor-make a plan for every book.

We have seen self-published books thrive, particularly when they are produced to the best possible quality, and have gone through a production process that is good enough to rival the traditional process. There is no reason why you can’t have a beautiful book if you’re self-publishing.

Claude Bouchard interview

AUTHOR INTERVIEW A little introduction: I’m Claude Bouchard, born, raised, and still living in the Montreal (Canada) area. In a prior life, I worked in the corporate world, mainly in human resources management. In 2008, my employer moved our jobs to India and, while I pursued other employment, I published three books I had written long before then continued to write and publish more. Along the way, I realized I had a new job, that of author, and never looked back.  When did your love of books begin? While in kindergarten, my parents had signed me up for a book of the month thing and I remember the excitement whenever a new book showed up in the mail.
